Atitudes e percepções de profissionais de saúde sobre o idadismo: revisão de escopo

Resumo

Objetivo:  O envelhecimento populacional global impõe desafios significativos aos sistemas de saúde, exigindo atitudes éticas e práticas assistenciais humanizadas. No entanto, o preconceito relacionado à idade ainda persiste como um obstáculo silencioso, influenciando negativamente a qualidade do cuidado ofertado à pessoa idosa em ambiente hospitalar. Este estudo teve como objetivo identificar e sintetizar evidências científicas sobre as atitudes e percepções dos profissionais de saúde em relação ao idadismo no ambiente hospitalar. Métodos: Trata-se de uma revisão de escopo conduzida conforme a metodologia do JBI, e reportada de acordo com o checklist PRISMA-ScR. As buscas foram realizadas entre março e junho de 2025, em bases de dados indexadas e literatura cinzenta.  Resultados: Foram incluídos 30 estudos publicados entre 2009 e 2024, majoritariamente de delineamento quantitativo (82,1%). A amostra totalizou 7.842 profissionais de saúde, sendo a maioria da enfermagem (78%). Em relação às atitudes frente à pessoa idosa, 50% dos estudos apontaram percepções positivas, 25% negativas, 17,8% ambivalentes e 7,2% neutras. Considerações finais: Constatou-se que fatores como formação geriátrica, experiências prévias com pessoas idosas, contexto institucional e características sociodemográficas influenciam diretamente a construção dessas atitudes. Os achados reforçam a necessidade de estratégias educativas e políticas institucionais voltadas à sensibilização dos profissionais quanto ao preconceito etário, promovendo uma assistência hospitalar mais equitativa, ética e centrada na pessoa idosa.
