Abstract

Objective: To discuss about different remuneration models possible on applying at Supplementary Health System. Methods: Reflective study that synthesizes the main aspects of different models of remuneration from the references available in the literature. Results: Private health institutions, insurance companies and providers of healthcare plans can innovate the ways on relating by replacing the traditional Fee for service with other models like Bundled Payments, Pay for Performance, Diagnosis Related Groupings and Capitation. The intentional adoption of a new model can result in alternatives that make the attending cost predictable and associated with performance, encouraging quality of care, beyond the amount of services, and the achievement of financial balance. Final considerations: Practicing different remuneration models can generate better results associated to the Supplementary Health System and provide an improvement in costs benefiting services providers, paying sources and patients/clients.
